There are moments in life when you think you’re walking into something for one reason… only to realize God had a much bigger plan all along.

At the beginning of this year, my word was Intention. I made a commitment to myself that I would no longer just go through the motions, I would intentionally show up in every area of my life.

That intention is what led me to attend the WealthWave Convention. I didn’t go just to attend. I went with purpose.

As a Total Wellness Coach, I’ve always been passionate about mental health, healing, and helping others navigate life’s challenges. But I also knew there was another level I needed to step into—financial literacy.

“Because healing isn’t just emotional. It’s mental, spiritual… and financial too.”

And while I went to that conference to learn, what I received was confirmation.

The word that echoed throughout the conference was: ACCELERATE.

And it spoke directly to my spirit. Because when you align intention with action, acceleration becomes inevitable.

🛑 When Life Interrupts Your Plan

But let me be real with you… because that’s what we do over here at Real Talk TYME.

Life didn’t pause just because I made a decision to grow. Right before the conference, I experienced an unexpected loss in my family.

And in that moment, I had a choice:
Stay on my original path
Or follow my heart

I chose connection.

February’s word for me was Connection, and I had to live that out in real time. I diverted my trip. Drove over an hour out of the way. And showed up for my family. Not because it was convenient… but because it was necessary.

And when I walked in and saw the look on my family member’s face when they hugged me tight because they didn’t expect me to be there…

That moment reminded me: Showing up matters. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do in life… is simply be present.

⚖️ Balancing Purpose and Pain

Let’s be honest. October through March has been one of the hardest seasons of my life for years. Grief. Loss. Transitions. Life has been life-ing.

But here’s what I’ve learned: You don’t have to have it all together to keep moving forward. You just have to be willing to take the next step.

Even when you're hurting. Even when you're unsure. Even when the path isn’t clear.

🚶🏾‍♀️ Still Showing Up Anyway

After showing up for my family, I continued on my journey. I met up with my husband. I honored the commitments we had already made.

And I showed up in those spaces too. Because sometimes life will divert you… but that doesn’t mean you stop. It means you adjust, realign, and keep going.

💡 What This Season Taught Me

This experience reminded me of a few things:

Growth doesn’t require perfection. It requires obedience, faith, and consistency.

Because life will always bring storms. But you don’t stop walking just because it rains.

You may not always see the full staircase in front of you. But that doesn’t mean you stop climbing.
