What’s Up Wednesday: “Anxiety in Crowded Places – You’re Not Alone”

By: Coach Mo| Real Talk TYME

Let’s talk real for a minute…

This past week, I found myself navigating crowded airports, tight spaces, unpredictable weather, and back-to-back events packed with people. For some, it’s just “part of the trip.” But for others, especially women veterans like myself, it’s a different kind of experience.

The loud chatter. The congestion. The constantly shifting schedules. The unexpected turbulence in the air and in my body. The overstimulation from being surrounded by people non-stop. For someone living with PTSD, anxiety, or the lingering effects of TBI, this isn’t just uncomfortable…..it’s exhausting.

Five days away from home, and I could feel every layer of discomfort building up….mentally, emotionally, and physically. All I wanted was to return to my space of peace, safety, and stillness.

This is the reality for many of us.
We smile through it. We push through it.
But inside…we’re just trying to survive it.

If this sounds like you, please know:

  • You are not dramatic.
  • You are not antisocial.
  • You are not alone.

You’re human. You’ve endured more than most will ever understand.

And if you don’t personally relate, I encourage you to pause and consider how many people quietly manage these internal battles while showing up anyway.

This is why I speak out. This is why I create spaces for Real Talk.
Because some of us don’t just visit places, we survive them.

Let’s continue to build awareness, compassion, and understanding for ourselves and for others by having “Real Talk Conversations about Real Life Situations!”
