As we close out Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I want to pause and acknowledge something that too often gets overlooked — the mental health journey that follows survival, loss, or silence.
We celebrate survivors, we remember those we’ve lost, and we raise awareness for the causes that affect millions. But behind those pink and purple ribbons are people — people carrying silent battles, trauma, and emotional exhaustion that can’t always be seen.
🕊️Let’s Normalize Talking About It
It’s time we normalize speaking openly about mental health, trauma, and the healing process. Healing is not a straight path — it’s layered, emotional, and deeply personal.
Many suffer in silence because they fear judgment or don’t know how to ask for help. I’ve been there feeling like my strength had to be silent, like my faith alone had to carry me. But faith and therapy can coexist. Faith gives hope. Therapy gives tools. And together, they create healing.
💭If You’ve Been Suffering in Silence…
Speak your truth — even if your voice shakes.
Seek therapy or counseling — your feelings deserve professional support.
Lean on faith — prayer, meditation, or journaling can ground your spirit.
Find your tribe — community matters; don’t isolate.
Give yourself grace — healing takes time, not pressure.
You don’t have to carry your pain alone. Sharing your story doesn’t make you weak; it makes you brave.
🌟Preparing for the Holidays
As the holidays approach, many people face a surge of grief, depression, and loneliness. The empty seats, the lost traditions, and the bittersweet memories can be overwhelming.
Be gentle with yourself. Make space for your emotions. And if someone around you seems withdrawn, extend compassion instead of judgment because you never know the weight they’re carrying.
💜Real Talk TYME Moment
This season, I challenge you to:
Speak up. Show up. Check in on someone. Be kind in this heavy world. It’s time we normalize healing out loud. Together, we can create a world where no one has to suffer in silence.
