What’s Up Wednesday: The Power of Morning Routines – Mornings Matter, Even When They’re Messy

🌞 Let’s talk about how we start our day. Lately, I’ve been thinking about mornings — not just the kind that look perfect on social media, but the real ones. The messy ones. The rushed ones. The quiet ones. The sacred ones.

I’ve come to realize that my morning routine and how I begin my day truly sets the tone for everything that follows. Whether I spend five quiet minutes in stillness, say a quick prayer, journal my thoughts, stretch my body, or sip a hot cup of coffee before the world fully wakes up – it all matters.

But let’s be REAL:

Not every morning goes as planned or flows smoothly

Some days, I’m on point — rising early, moving with purpose, knocking out my to-do list because I am focused and intentional.
Other days, I’m just surviving and dragging? I’m barely hanging on, just making it out the door in one piece.

And you know what? That’s okay, too. Because giving yourself grace is just as important as being disciplined. Progress over perfection, even in your routine.

These days, I mean lately, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about my mornings. Less phone-scrolling unless it’s intentional posting on social media or a message/email that I need to reply back to. When I first wake up, it’s less scrolling and more soul-filling. Even if I can’t do everything, I try to do something that grounds me. It doesn’t have to be long or fancy, especially not perfect – it just has to feel right for you.

And if mornings aren’t your thing and you are not a morning? That’s okay, too. However, that’s still no excuse to neglect you. You can create a midday reset, pause or an evening ritual to help wind-down.  Just find a moment that centers you. A rhythm that belongs to you. Begin to do something that brings balance, peace, and structure to your day.

  🕊️ REAL TALK TYME:
Do you have a morning routine? Or are you still figuring it out?

What’s something that’s important to you to feel grounded before the day really begins?

What’s one thing that helps you feel centered when you wake up in morning chaos?

  1. An ideal morning routine for me I get up at 4 AM. I’m working out by 4:30 home by 5:30. Throw on some laundry unload the dishwasher go upstairs and get dressed for the day and I’m at work by 8 AM. I feel accomplished if I can get that routine down 2 to 3 mornings a week. But life, kids, a husband sometimes my perfect mornings take a backseat to them.
