“What’s Up Wednesday: The Real Cost of Staying Silent About Your Money”
Opening Reflection:
Hey RTT Community! Hey y'all Coach Mo and yes, it’s been a minute since I dropped a blog, but you already know when I do, I’m bringing truth, tools, and transformation.
This What’s Up Wednesday, I want to get real about something we don’t talk about enough—Our Money. Not just how we spend it, but how we fear facing it, sharing it, and even healing from it.

Let’s Talk Truth:
We live in a world where people would rather post about what they bought than talk about how they budgeted. Where flexing credit cards looks better than understanding savings and investments. Where talking about money feels like airing out dirty laundry and whew, the load is heavy.
But here’s your Coach Mo reality check:
- Avoidance costs more than awareness.
- And financial silence is generational sabotage.
It’s time to stop hiding our bills, our wills, our debt, our lack of savings, or even our investments from the people who need to know—our partners, our children, our communities, and yes, even ourselves.
Why Are We So Afraid?
Let’s be honest.
- Some of us were raised in cultures where money wasn’t talked about, it was just stressed about.
- Some of us saw family members pass with no wills, no plan, and nothing left but confusion and pain.
- Some of us feel shame about where we are financially and we’re carrying that shame into silence.
But what if we changed the narrative?
✨ RTT Energy: Reflect. Transform. Heal.
It’s time to heal our relationship with money. That means:
- Talking about budgeting without feeling broke.
- Asking questions without shame.
- Teaching our kids what we weren’t taught.
- Normalizing the financial conversations we were raised to avoid.
This month, with all the holiday hype, I challenge you to pause before the purchase and ask: “Am I spending from a place of purpose or pressure?”
🗓️ This Holiday Season…
Instead of only planning menus and gift lists, let’s plan:
- A financial check-in with our households.
- A conversation with aging parents about wills and wishes.
- A moment to pull out the mental health & money calendar and revisit those daily tips.
- A vision for 2024 that includes financial literacy as a pillar of your personal peace.
Because financial health IS mental health, and the sooner we own it, the freer we’ll be.
